The Union of Friendship Organizations of Quang Nam Province, the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Quang Nam Province in collaboration with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Quang Nam Province held a humanitarian program in Sekong Province, Lao PDR from August 31 to September 4. 2022

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos (September 5, 1962-September 5, 2022) and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos friendship and cooperation treaty (July 18). /1977-18/7/2022), Quang Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Quang Nam Province in collaboration with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Quang Nam Province organized a humanitarian program in Sekong province, Lao PDR. from August 31 to September 4, 2022.

On the side of the Church, there was the witness of: Most Venerable Thich Hue Phat, General Secretary of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha in Quang Nam province – Head of Economic and Finance Department of Quang Nam province; Venerable Thich Phap Hanh – Head of International Buddhism Committee cum Head of Buddhist Culture Department in Dien Ban town, Venerable Thich Phap Hieu – Standing member of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha BTS in Da Nang city.


On the side of the Government, there were the attendance of: Mr. Tran Van Mai – Vice President in charge of the Union of Friendship Organizations (CTCHN) in Quang Nam Province – Head of the delegation; Mr. Tran Van Em – Chief of Office of the Union of Ha Noi Financial Institutions in Quang Nam Province; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoang – Deputy Director of the Northern mountainous General Hospital of Quang Nam; Mr. Nguyen Ba – Chairman of the Red Cross Society of Tien Phuoc district and a delegation of officials, doctors and sponsors sent to participate in a business trip in Se – Kong province, Laos.


Warmly welcoming the Vietnamese Delegation to visit and work, on the side of the Government of Sekong – Laos, there were: Mr. Lech Lay Si Vi Lay, UV Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Sekong Province Governor; Ms. Bun Hieng Bun Chit, UVBTVTU, Chairman of the Committee for the Construction of Laos, Chairman of the Lao-Vietnam Friendship Association in Sekong Province;

During the very responsible and enthusiastic working days of the humanitarian mission of Quang Nam province and Ho Chi Minh City, more than 1600 people examined and provided medicine, screened and treated more than 370 patients, performed surgery. eye surgery for more than 100 patients and donated essential necessities to poor patients, students and disadvantaged families in Se Kong province with a total budget of nearly 1 billion VND.


During the business trip, the delegation visited and presented gifts to the Buddhist Executive Board of Sekong Province, attended the celebration of the 77th National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse, Laos.
