On October 1, the Executive Board of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha of Can Tho City issued Notice No. 113/TB-BTS on allowing monasteries to reopen and implementing the directive 15/CT-TTg not to gather in large numbers of people. No religious activities are held.
The notice signed by Venerable Thich Binh Tam – Deputy Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Can Tho City clearly states:
Follow the spirit of Official Dispatch No. 4299/UBND-HCTC of Can Tho City People’s Committee on the implementation of Directive 15/CT-TTg throughout the city.
Now, the Executive Board of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha of Can Tho City has informed the venerable monks, nuns, and abbots of the monasteries to reopen but not to organize religious activities in large numbers.
It is recommended that the monastery facilities strictly implement Directive 15/CT-TTg and measures to prevent the COVID-19 epidemic according to the regulations of the authorities. (Required 5K: Mask – Disinfection – Distance – Not Focusing – Medical declaration).
The Executive Board of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha of Can Tho City would like to inform the venerable monks, nuns, abbots and Buddhists of the monasteries to know and seriously implement them.
