Dai Gioi Dan has invited Ton Duc from North America (HT. Thich Tinh Tu, HT. Thich Tinh Dieu, HT. Thich Nguyen Hanh, HT. Thich Phuoc Tinh, HT. Thich Tu Luc, nun Thich Nu Nguyen Thanh. , Nun Thich Nu Nhu Huong, Nun Thich Nu Nhu Bao, etc., joined the Ordinance Council. The presence of the Blessed Ones in the Great Precepts is a great blessing for us.

Thanks to the blessings of the Three Jewels, the two bhikshuni and female bhikshu ordination ceremonies took place very smoothly. The public can clearly feel the powerful energy of all six centers in three continents America – Eurasia – Asia breathing the same rhythm in that legendary moment. Each center reflects the image of the other centers like a glittering lattice net. The image of two hundred monastics in the Nuoc Tinh meditation hall, Upper hamlet – Phap Plum Village – in harmony with the masses in the Pacific Meditation hall of the Loc Uyen Monastery and chanting the Heart Sutra of the Wisdom of the Cross made many people in the crowd. very emotional. The harmonious coordination between the centers in organizing the Dai Gioi Dan has brought Monk and his Sangha a lot of joy and energy to keep going.

Master Ong has followed and supported the energy of Dai Gioi Dan with a lot of love. In this Dai Gioi Dan, there was also an initiation ceremony for fifty new teachers (both monastics and lay people) held at the centers of the Buddhist Sangha. Plum Village. In Hue, the teachers and novice teachers had the opportunity to come in and offer their opinions to the monk and was accepted by him, placing their hands on each of them for a long time. Dai Gioi Dan has nurtured Master Ong a lot. Monk’s health is clearly better, any attendant can see that. This is a great happiness for the whole Sangha.

Peaceful stay

This October 11.10 will be the 95th Continuation Day of our Master. On this occasion, we would like to share with friends in the Sangha around the world about the health situation of Master Ong, as well as the activities of the masses at Tu Hieu communal house, Hue.

Over the past year, according to impermanence, our Master’s health has weakened. This spring, Master Ong was not strong enough to walk around the grounds of Tu Hieu pagoda like last year. But fortunately, by the time the work on Tu Hieu pagoda was completed, Mr. Ong had enough energy to visit the temple grounds and new constructions. During these autumn days, the rainy, humid and cold weather in Hue adversely affected the health of the monk. But now, our Monk is still being cared for very well by the teachers and nuns in the attendants.

In recent months, Master Ong has rested more but is still very alert and peaceful. On beautiful days, the attendants took him out to sit on the porch of the listening room so that he could warm up in the sun and admire the natural scenery around the To Pagoda. In a year affected by the Covid pandemic, young monastics took turns helping the attendants take care of Master Ong, thus having the opportunity to be closer to him. Sometimes, the monks and nuns also gather in the garden near the Master’s listening room to light a fire, share the practice, and sing together in the brotherhood of one family.

Be present for each other

In the context of the complicated development of the Covid-19 pandemic in Vietnam, Tu Hieu pagoda and Dieu Tram nunnery were forced to close, unable to welcome friends back to study as before. Hue was very lucky not to have an outbreak like in Ho Chi Minh City and some other provinces. From Hue, Tu Hieu and Dieu Tram have organized online meditation and chanting sessions every Tuesday and Friday night to provide spiritual support to lay Sangha and send peaceful energy to everywhere. during the strict isolation period, especially the provinces in the South. Plum Village centers in Asia have also coordinated to open an online mindfulness practice day on Sunday for everyone to practice. With the support of friends in the international Sangha through the Understanding and Love program, the monks and nuns in Hue have tried their best to provide oxygen tanks, food, medicine, organize events, and organize events. volunteer kitchen to help those struggling with the epidemic.

We are deeply aware that right now there are countless people in the world who are facing various difficulties, pressures, uncertainties and sufferings due to the impact of the epidemic. With that awareness, we continue to practice diligently, creating energy of peace, stability, and compassion so that we can continue to be a refuge for everyone. We look forward to opening Plum Village in France as soon as possible. We are taking all necessary steps to make that happen as soon as possible. Currently, we have gradually started reopening to welcome yogis near the Village to practice on this day of meditation this fall with specific regulations to ensure the safety of the public in the face of the epidemic situation. sick. We are very happy that the European Institute of Applied Buddhism (EIAB) in Germany, Deer Monastery in California and Bich Nham Monastery in New York have found the right way to welcome students to attend the retreats. at the monastery. At Phap Plum Village, while waiting for the right conditions to open our doors, we continue to find different ways to donate our presence and share our teachings and practices through live activities. line.

New doors

At Phap Plum Village, the public is in the autumn retreat with the theme: “Treasures in the Plum Village tradition”. There are more than 1500 meditators from all over the world who have made a vow to live with the Sangha, meaning that although they do not come to reside permanently in the Village, they still participate in online courses such as Dharma talks, meditation exercises, Dharma talks, and meals. silence for three months. Master Ong’s vision of an electronic temple where everyone could easily access Plum Village’s spiritual practices became a reality.

This October, with the nomination of the public, a monastic delegation will represent Monk and the Sangha to Scotland to attend the TED Countdown Conference held ahead of the 26th Climate Change Conference. United Nations (COP26) taking place next November. The Delegation will share with leaders, scientists, social activists and entrepreneurs Mr. Ong’s teachings on community awareness and applied ethics. The delegation will also teach walking meditation, breathing meditation, eating meditation, and the art of deep listening. Master Ong always wanted to organize mindfulness retreats (for activists, leaders, etc.) before the political summits take place. So this is a great opportunity to fulfill Master’s wish.

Listening is a gift

To express our love and gratitude to Master Ong on his 95th Continuity Day, we would like to invite you and your friends to practice listening to yourself, listening to your loved ones and listening to Mother Earth. The practice of mindfulness of each of us is the most precious gift we can give to the Master to celebrate His Continuity. At the same time, we know that Mother Earth is in dire need of our love, care and protection. With the peaceful energy and wisdom gained from the practice of deep listening, each of us will be able to do our part in preserving Mother Earth.

We are extremely grateful to our friends who are always there, accompanying and supporting the Sangha on the path of practice and service, going with Master Ong into the future. Praying for the blessings of the Three Jewels to always bless you and your family with good health and peace.

Sincerely and gratefully,

Plum Village Sangha.
