The delegation of the Government Committee for Religion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front includes Mr. Nguyen Anh Chuc, Deputy Head of the Government Committee for Religion; Ms. Pham Thanh Tuyen, Deputy Director of Southern Department, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Mr. Vo Thanh Phong, Member of Provincial Party Committee, Director of Department of Home Affairs of Long An Province.

At the reception, Most Venerable Thich Minh Thien shared about the province’s Buddhist activities in recent years. Accordingly, Buddhist monks and nuns in Long An province always conduct religious activities according to the permission of functional agencies, ensuring the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic in the new situation. Over the past time, monks, nuns and Buddhists throughout the province have mobilized and contributed over VND 40 billion, of which VND 665 million is for the vaccine fund and the frontline against the epidemic.

The Venerable Master also informed about the plan to organize the 10th Congress of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha in Long An province, the term 2022-2027 which will take place in 2022. Up to now, the whole province of Long An has had 11/13 district, town and city units, successfully organized the Congress of delegates of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.

Regarding the organization of the Congress of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha in the localities, he evaluated Long An as one of the early organizing units compared to other units; It is suggested that in the coming time, relevant levels and branches of Long An province should create favorable conditions to help the Board of Directors successfully organize the 40th anniversary of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the 38th anniversary of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Long An province. .
