Therefore, leprosy camps have become lonely “oases” in the middle of life. The fear of the disease that people call “leprosy” has caused many people to leave in solitude, being shunned by relatives and family. Leprosy camps are often far from residential areas, so everyone’s life is very difficult, especially the elderly. The people living here are mainly self-sufficient, relying on each other to live.
Wishing to share love, encouragement and send the most peaceful thoughts to everyone, representatives of the Monks and Nuns of Long Hung Pagoda coordinated with student clubs to present 110 gifts including rice and noodles. shrimp, milk, fruit… to the elderly and patients living and being treated at Phong Chi Linh Institute, each gift is worth 250,000 VND.
Returning to Phong camp, in addition to visiting, encouraging and giving gifts, under the guidance of the nuns, the volunteer group participated in a time of reciting Buddha’s name and reciting the Great Compassion Mantra to pray for health and prosperity. Peace came to the patients, the team also cleared, cleaned weeds and fertilized the plants on the premises. Hopefully, with these sincere feelings, the patients at the leprosy camp will be relieved of homesickness, missing loved ones and lonely sadness.
Everyone in this world wants to live in a loving community, treated equally and benevolently, leprosy patients are even more eager to have that than ever. A late autumn afternoon, with loving eyes, warm smiles, and sincere sharing of hands, it is definitely a joy and happiness for them, the less fortunate will live. happy, towards a peaceful life ahead.
