The Venerable Thich Quang Thanh reported on the administrative and training work at the academy in 2021. Accordingly, the Executive Council appointed personnel from the departments, revised and supplemented the Internal Regulations, and organized the study. and online exam for the 16th class, introduced 13 monks and nuns to register for an interview to receive ICCR India scholarships, and trained 190 monks in joint training with the Buddhist School of Tien Giang and Ba Ria-Vung Tau. , nuns, are currently training bachelors with 3,185 monks and nuns; Master: 177 students and 19 PhD students in Buddhism.
It is known that the Executive Council currently organizes boarding and free learning for monks and nuns of the XIV and XV courses with 785 students with an annual budget of more than 5 billion. During the recent epidemic, there were 31 monks and nuns selected to support and care for Covid-19 patients among hundreds of students and monks who registered to join the frontline of epidemic prevention. Besides, the Academy also organizes social activities such as: blood donation, wall newspaper contest, food support, food distribution to quarantine areas and frontline against epidemics…
The construction of the main hall, the multi-purpose house has been completed 90%, will be completed in the second quarter of 2022 to celebrate the Buddhist Congress of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country. Other works such as library, school building, fence system… are underway, with the estimated total cost of more than 200 billion VND.
The Academy will give monks and nuns a Tet holiday to return to their residences from the 15th day of the 12th lunar month and re-enter them on January 19, the year of the Tiger. Monks and nuns of the 16th class are required to do full boarding.
The Executive Council requests the Board of Directors to take medical measures for all monks and nuns before entering school to ensure a safe and secure environment for studying.
