From the mind born. Unwholesome thoughts, unwholesome words, unwholesome deeds, you will have an accident, this is the retribution. This is talking about the general, not leaving cause and effect, cause and effect is self-acceptance. If our mind is good, our speech is good, our deeds are good, and our three karmas are all good, then the environment we live in will be dignified and enjoy countless blessings. The enjoyment of that blessing is also self-perpetuating. Blessings are not given to you by others, harm is not brought to you by others, and blessings are all your own good and evil karma.

Nowadays people in the world do unwholesome deeds, and they do unwholesome deeds all over the world, this is troublesome, and the retribution is terrible. Sentient beings are confused, do not know how to turn around, do not know how to reflect, thinking that this is a natural disaster, they themselves are very unhappy when they encounter this accident, so they think of all ways to avoid it. Can it be avoided? Impossible. Why can’t? Due to your own karma, where do you hide? Run to the place of Buddha and Bodhisattva, pull the hem of the Buddha’s shirt, you still have to suffer the retribution, the Buddha cannot save. If the Buddha can save, the Buddha has great compassion, then sentient beings will not have any accidents, then the Buddha is called compassionate. If there is still a living being who suffers and suffers, where is the compassion of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas? You should know that this matter cannot be saved by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, but you do it on your own.

Buddha’s Bodhisattva, saving sentient beings is completely teaching, that is, bringing the logic of nature and cause and effect to you clearly and thoroughly. You suddenly understand, so you are right in the realm of mastery, you immediately have great freedom. This is the Buddha’s compassion, this is the true Buddha who saves us. There is no superstition in Buddhism. There is a proverb that says: “Solve the spirit of the soul of the soul”. The cause is what we create, so of course we have to receive it ourselves. If we don’t want to receive evil retribution, is there any good method? The method is there, must change the cause and effect, the retribution will no longer exist, because it is the only variable consciousness. Worldly people only see the natural causes of accidents, but do not know the natural causes of accidents. Today, East and West, people in the past have seen this accident a lot. We are very clear about this, but there is no way to solve it.

The solution method is in the Buddhadharma, how does the Buddha teach us to solve it? Psychological change. Old layman Ly Binh Nam, in the past, used to advise us to “change our minds”. The intention of the mind is to change evil towards good. What is mind reality? It is to say the concept. Change evil thoughts into good ideas, use sincere goodwill towards people, and change from benevolent. Initiating thought is the cause, even in everyday life, dealing with people is a condition. Change from the place of cause, change from the place of condition, no longer use the previous attitude to treat people and material things. In dealing with people, the most important thing, the Buddha taught us six principles.

What should we do if we encounter a major accident?

Definitely have to follow the teachings of Buddha, this is what I often say, do not follow your own will. Depending on your own will definitely create karma, why is that? Our own ideas are all self-seeking, self-seeking, thinking the first thing is to think for ourselves, is there any benefit to us? You should know that this kind of thinking brings you great harm. On the Ksitigarbha Sutra it is said very well: “Dharma buddhism sentient beings are moved to think of no crime”. A good idea but also for our own benefit, always putting our own interests in the first row, that is sin, that is creating karma.

How many people know this? Those who are honest and intelligent, those who are truly enlightened, those who are honest turn their heads, then let go of their own way of thinking, and obey the teachings of the Buddha and Bodhisattva. What the Buddha taught us to do, we worked hard to do, what the Buddha said we should not do, we decided not to do.
