The Executive Board of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha in Lai Chau province held a conference to summarize Buddhist work in 2021 and implement the direction of activities in 2022 at Quan Su Pagoda (Hanoi) on January 14.

The conference was chaired by Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Standing Vice Chairman of the Executive Council, Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Lai Chau province.

According to the report at the conference, the whole province has 12 monks living in the area, there is 1 place of worship (Linh Son pagoda) and 1 establishment is completing procedures (Linh Ung pagoda).

In the past year, the Provincial Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha has done well in charity and humanitarian work: supporting the vaccine purchase fund in cash with nearly 100 billion VND, texting via the switchboard at 1408 with 1087 messages, equivalent to 856 million VND; supporting frontline forces to prevent epidemics, blockade areas, medical isolation … with a total value of over 1 billion dong…

The conference also had many suggestions to ensure the intensive cohesion of Buddhist works as well as measures to overcome the remaining shortcomings and limitations, to come up with many solutions to carry out the Buddhist mission in the year. 2022.

Regarding the direction of operation in 2022, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province implemented a number of tasks in mind such as: Accelerating the construction progress, inaugurating phase 1 of Linh Son Pagoda – Provincial Buddhist Headquarters; promote completion of construction documents of Linh Ung pagoda items; focus on organizing the 3rd Provincial Buddhist Delegate Congress, term 2022-2027 in the middle of the 3rd lunar month…
