The Blessed One, knowing that King Pasenadi had finished his meal, was full and satisfied, at that moment said the verse:

People are often mindful

Eaten, you know?

Moderate, strong feelings

Slow aging, long lifespan.

At that time, King Pasenadi called to the brahmin youth Sudassana who was standing behind him:

Friend, learn this verse from the Blessed One by heart, and while you’re serving me dinner, recite it, and I’ll give you a hundred gold coins every day.

Young Sudassana obeyed the king, memorized the verse, and whenever he served the king’s meal, he often recited this verse.

Then King Pasenadi ate and drank gradually, until he ate only one nalika at most. After some time, the king’s body became healthy, massaged his limbs, and said the following inspirational words: Oh, indeed the Blessed One has thought of my benefit, both present and future lives. future!

It is also the best way to develop loving-kindness, increase longevity, reduce disease, and is the motto of living according to the Buddha’s teachings.
