The dawn on the island is so beautiful in a space as far as the eye can see, the boat as a small dot adorns the enchanting beauty of the homeland’s sea and islands.

According to archaeological remains and artifacts left on Cat Ba island, Buddhism was present here thousands of years ago, but due to time and war, the temples are only ruins. In 2012, Venerable Thich Tuc Khang was awarded the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City. Hai Phong appointed in charge of Buddhism in Cat Hai island district. In the past 10 years, from nothing, the Venerable Master has campaigned with a number of businesses, sponsors and Buddhist relatives in Cat Hai island district and Cat Ba town in Ho Chi Minh City. Because building a temple on the island is a hundred times more difficult than building on the mainland, the temples on the sea and islands are not only a place of religious activities to take care of the spiritual life, a place to study for the Buddhist people. It also carries with it an important meaning about the country’s history and national sovereignty over the sea and islands.

The first destination is Linh Son Pagoda, also known as (Goi Pagoda) located in Xuan Dam commune, Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city, according to records, the pagoda was built in 1885, during the reign of King Nguyen. In 2007 people restored a simple thatched roof with an area of only 6m2, in 2018 Venerable Thich Tuc Khang mobilized benefactors to buy more land for the construction of Thien Ung Pagoda in Tran Chau commune on the old land of the heritage site. More than 2 hours after crossing the sea, we set foot on Chua Island, this is an island with an area of 78ha located far from the mainland, Linh Ung Pagoda was approved by the City People’s Committee. Hai Phong planned to build on the island, now Linh Ung Pagoda only has a small three-place temple about 30m2 made of wood, roofed with corrugated iron, built temporarily on the old foundation, inside there is an ancient Buddha image more than 700 years old, the way to the top. The pagoda is thousands of steep stone steps arranged by the monks, from the top of the temple overlooking the east sea as far as the eye can see with small islands a beautiful landscape like a place of paradise, the sacred thing is that although outside the island, there is a well. Natural fresh water all year round does not run out of water.

With a location here, Linh Ung Pagoda will be in the future as a Buddhist scenic spot as well as a safe place for the country to be peaceful in the northeast of Vietnam’s sea and islands.

Two days accompanying the monk who loved the sea and islands with us was very short, but it was enough to feel the beauty of the homeland’s sea and islands, the meaning of the temples on the far away islands, the compassion of the religion. Buddha, learn more about a monk who devoted much effort to building pagodas on the island, bringing human knowledge to fellow Buddhists on the island.
