Having taken on a human condition, of course everyone has suffering. But women, because of gender karma must carry the motherhood, so they have a specific psycho-physiological structure, being the weak sex and of course have their own sufferings that are different from that of men, men…

Buddha’s View of Gender

The Buddha taught about the weak sex five separate sufferings

Once the Blessed One was staying at Rajagaha, at Truc Lam. He called to the monks:

There are, bhikkhus, five distinct sufferings that a woman must endure, distinct from that of a man. What is the year?

Here, bhikkhus, a young woman goes to her husband’s house, having no relatives. This is the first particular suffering that a woman has to endure, different from a man.

Again, bhikkhus, a woman has her period. This is the second separate suffering, which the woman has to endure, which is different from the man.

Again, bhikkhus, a woman must become pregnant. This is the third separate suffering, which the woman has to endure, which is different from the man.

Again, bhikkhus, a woman must give birth to a child. This is the fourth separate suffering that a woman has to endure, which is different from that of a man.

Again, bhikkhus, a woman serves a man. This is the fifth separate suffering that a woman has to endure, which is different from that of a man.

These, bhikkhus, are the five separate sufferings that women must endure, different from men.

DISCLAIMER:

Having taken on a human condition, of course everyone has suffering. But women, because gender karma must carry the motherhood, should have a specific psycho-physiological structure, being the weaker sex and of course have separate sufferings that are different from that of men and men.

Referring to women’s private, secret pain in order to understand, sympathize and love them is a gesture of honor and respect. One of the most important human needs is to be understood, especially for the weaker sex. In modern society, women have equal rights with men in all aspects. However, the limitations of gender karma make women unable to be truly equal to men and men cannot share no matter how much they love women, typically in frustrations and annoyances. every month; heaviness, fatigue during pregnancy; the pain and danger of giving birth.

Today, the trend of women’s liberation and social equality has reached its peak. Therefore, most women get rid of two separate pains: returning to their husband’s house at a young age, having no relatives, and serving men. However, the efforts of a few scientists and some women in developed countries to liberate women’s vocation is a big mistake. Because a woman who does not have a period, does not become pregnant and does not bear children will no longer be a weak sex, a beautiful woman, or even a woman.

Understanding to sympathize and love one’s life partner is more than the duty of a lay man to live according to the Buddha’s teachings. Women also need to understand themselves better, especially with a clear sense of female gender karma in order to perfect themselves and be worthy of being a woman.
