Responding to the call of the Buddhist Executive Board of Soc Trang Province, monasteries such as Chanh Thien Co Pagoda, Giac Linh Pagoda and Pho Giac Pagoda have practical charity activities to celebrate Buddha’s Birthday PL.2566 in the spirit of “serving sentient beings is practically making offerings to the Buddhas”.
Accordingly, on May 8, 2022 (on April 8 of the Year of the Tiger), SC.Thich Nu Trung Quang – Abbot of Chanh Thien Co Pagoda (Ke Sach District) has called for generous Buddhists to support and organize the organization. The organization presented 200 gifts to poor people on the occasion of Buddha’s birthday in 2022. The gifts included 10 kg of rice, 01 box of noodles and other side foods with a total value of 55 million VND.
On the same day, NS.Thich Nu Minh Hieu – Abbot of Giac Linh Pagoda (Chau Thanh District) was sponsored by benefactors to give 210 gifts to disadvantaged people on the occasion of Buddha Bathing Day. Gifts include rice, noodles, other necessities and cash envelopes, each worth 250,000 VND, total value is 52.5 million VND.
Previously, on May 6, 2022 (on the 6th of April in the year of the Tiger), SC.Thich Nu Hue Ha – Abbot of Pho Giac Pagoda (Long Phu district) held a ribbon cutting ceremony to inaugurate a rural bridge named Dai Phat. . The bridge is 21 meters long, 2 meters wide, built in Truong Khanh B hamlet, Truong Khanh commune, Long Phu district, Soc Trang province. Mr. Le Tan Tai’s family and RF Cosmestic Joint Stock Company (HCMC) sponsored the cost of materials, the group shared the love of Pho Giac pagoda and the local people co-constructed the construction, the value of the bridge was 110 million dong.
On the occasion of the inauguration of SC.Thich Nu Hue Ha also organized to give 30 gifts to the poor, each worth 200,000 VND. The total value of the bridge and the gift is 116 million VND.
Thus, charity activities to celebrate Buddha’s birthday PL.2566 of 3 pagodas with a total value of more than 223 million VND.
