He is a Buddha but also a human being, a wonderful person. The miracle is because he has spent countless kalpas practicing the bodhisattva path, from the position of sentient beings he has ascended to the position of Perfect Enlightenment, fully enlightened, blessed with adornment, and respected by gods and men.

On one occasion the Blessed One was staying at Sàvatthi, in the Jetavana forest, in the garden of Anathapindika. There, the Blessed One said to the monks:

A person, bhikkhus, when appearing in the world, is the appearance of great eyes, the appearance of great light, the appearance of great clarity, the appearance of the six unsurpassed, the realization of the four unobstructed solutions, is the communication of many precepts, is the communication of the different precepts, is the realization of insight and liberation, is the realization of stream-entry fruition, is the realization of the One-Returner , is the realization of the fruit of Non-Returning, is the realization of the fruit of Arahantship. Whose is that person? It is the Tathagata, the Arahant, the Fully Enlightened One.

(DTKVN, Tang Branch I, chapter 1, chapter One person, section Tathagata [lược]VNCPHVN Publication, 1996, p.48)

When the big eyes of the Blessed One appeared, with the wisdom of an enlightened and liberated being, he showed humanity that there was no creation of divine beings in heaven.

Discussion:

World Honored One Appearing in the world is a rare and unprecedented event, like the Udumbara flower that is said to bloom only once every 3,000 years. His presence in the world is the appearance of great eyes, penetrating the whole world with great wisdom of not-self.

Before the Blessed One, Vedic thought dominated ancient Indian society, paralyzing the human mind with blind faith in the creative power of Brahma. Each human being exists in the world with a unique situation because of the will of Brahma. All things being born and destroyed are not outside the will of the Supreme Being, who holds the power to create. Humans cannot change their fate and can’t even transform their bodies and minds, generally speaking, they cannot “break crutches against Heaven” but only bow their heads to obey and please Brahma through sacrifices and prayers.

When the big eyes of the Blessed One appeared, with the wisdom of an enlightened and liberated being, he showed humanity that there was no creation of divine beings in heaven. It’s just a collective obsession of a group of people who only know to believe without understanding, not wanting to see. In essence, the arising and passing away of all dharmas is due to dependent origination. With enough conditions, they are born, if they are present, they will disappear and disappear without the creation of any supernatural forces.

Humans, too, are not born of Brahma or divine beings and have full control over their status. With the wisdom of big eyes, the Blessed One affirmed that each person present in the world with a different situation and status is due to their own karma, not controlled or involved by anyone else. And karma can be turned, if the individual knows how to direct his own thoughts, words and actions towards the good path.

Therefore, each person “Let’s light the torch on your own”. Light up your life with the Dharma with the wisdom of not-self to dispel the darkness of ignorance.
