In the morning of May 11 / Nham Dan (June 9, 2022) at Tho Son pagoda (Nghia Ha commune, Quang Ngai city, Quang Ngai province) a dignified dharma ceremony commemorates the late Elder Venerable Thich Khanh. Tin (1895-1993), the founding father of the monasteries of Tho Son pagoda, ancient Tho Son pagoda, Hai Lam pagoda (Ly Son island district).

Offering incense in memory and celebrating the ceremony with the Venerables Most Venerable Thich Hanh Lac, Most Venerable Thich Hue Dat, co-evidencing the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Quang Ngai province; Most Venerable Thich Giai Quang, Abbot of Quang Hiep Pagoda; Venerables of the Standing Committee of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha in the province, the Buddhist Sangha of Quang Ngai city, the monks and nuns of the monasteries, and Buddhist friends from near and far also attended.


The Elder Most Venerable Thich Khanh Tin was born on October 22, Year of the Goat year (1895) in Ly Son island district, Quang Ngai province in a faithful middle-farm family of the Three Treasures. At the age of 13, he left home to study with Patriarch Hoang Tinh at Phuoc Quang pagoda, and was given the Dharma name of Chon Su by the Master.

In 1920, together with dharma brother Thich Khanh Anh, he was appointed by the Master to be ordained at the Great Precepts at Phuoc Quang, led by Venerable Thich Hoang Tinh as the leading monk. After being fully ordained, he was bestowed the Dharma name Khanh Tin by the Most Venerable Master, joining the 40th generation Lam Te lineage, the Chuc Thanh Zen sect.


Nearly a century of living with 80 years of studying and practicing religion, the Venerable Master opened the ancient Tho Son pagoda, Tho Son pagoda, Hai Lam pagoda, Ly Son island district. After completing the merits of perfecting the predestined relationship, the Venerable Master received the god of thirtieth on May 11, the year of the Rooster (1993) at Tho Son pagoda, Kim Thach village, Nghia Ha commune, Quang Ngai city. Live in the world for 98 years, 72 laps.
