The meeting of the Standing Committee of the Executive Council of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha (GHPGVN) was conducted on July 10, 2022 at the Office 2 of the Central Church – Quang Duc Monastery, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City. to summarize Buddhist work in the first 6 months of 2022 and discuss through the Church’s program of Buddhist activities for the last 6 months of 2022.

The conference was chaired by Most Venerable Thich Thien Nhon, Chairman of the Executive Council, and two Venerable Standing Vice Chairman of the Executive Council. The conference was attended by the Vice Chairman of the Executive Council, the Heads of the Committees, the Central Institute and members of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.

The conference was honored to welcome Ms. Tran Thi Minh Nga, Deputy Head of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs; Mr. Le Minh Khanh, Director of the Department of Buddhism, Government Committee for Religious Affairs. The conference was welcomed with a speech by Ms. Tran Thi Minh Nga who spoke on behalf of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs to the conference.

After an urgent working day in the spirit of harmony and solidarity, after listening to the preliminary report on Buddhist work in the first 6 months of 2022, the Buddhist activities program for the last 6 months of 2022 of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha by the Secretariat. presentation, and opinions expressed by representatives of the Boards, Central Institute of the Church, the Conference agreed:

DECIDES

1. Approving the preliminary report on Buddhist work in the first 6 months of 2020 and the Buddhist work program in the last 6 months of 2022 of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha.

2. The Conference unanimously approved the Project to organize the 9th National Buddhist Congress, which will take place on November 27, 28, and 29, 2022 at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Labor Palace, Hanoi capital with the theme: Discipline – Responsibility – Solidarity – Development. The congress will be attended by 1091 official delegates.

3. The Conference unanimously approved the list of personnel for the Steering Committee of the Congress, consisting of 19 members. The Human Resources Committee of the Congress consists of 19 members led by Most Venerable Thich Thien Nhon, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

4. The Conference unanimously approved the list of personnel of the Congress Organizing Committee consisting of 54 members, led by Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Standing Vice Chairman of the Executive Council.

5. The Conference unanimously approved the list of personnel for the Contents Committee of the Congress consisting of 27 members led by Venerable Thich Duc Thien, Vice Chairman, Secretary General of the Board of Directors as Head of the Committee.

6. The Heads of Committees of the Congress are responsible for structuring the Board’s personnel to carry out the tasks and tasks of successfully organizing the Congress.

7. The meeting unanimously approved the Personnel Project of the IX Congress, including 260 members of the Executive Council (225 full members, 35 alternate members), in which the number of members of the Standing Committee of the Board of Directors IX term is 61 positions (with attached scheme).

8. The Church Central Committee’s Economic – Financial Committee and the Finance and Logistics Department plan to budget for the organization of the congress and publicly announce financial mobilization among monks, nuns and Buddhists for the congress of delegates. 9th National Buddhism.

9. Assign the Secretariat of the Executive Council, the Contents Committee of the Congress to actively implement the work of amending the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Charter.

10. The conference unanimously approved the list of monks and nuns ordained at the conference submitted by the Central Sangha Committee, including: 47 Venerables, 116 Elders, 351 Venerables, 428 Nuns.

11. Assigning the Central Committee for Priesthood to compile the list of clergy ordinations at the annual Governing Council meetings of the VIII term to complete the list of full-term clergy ordinations and submit them to the Standing Committee. The Board of Directors, the Standing Committee of the Council to prove the authenticity and officially submit to the ordination at the IX Congress.

12. Assign the Steering Committee of the Provincial Congress, the Secretariat of the Executive Council, the Central Office of the Church to urge the organization of the Provincial Buddhist Congress for the term 2022-2027 to ensure completion within the stipulated time. provisions of Circular 60/TTHDTS.

13. The conference acknowledged and received comments from Ms. Tran Thi Minh Nga, Government Committee for Religious Affairs. 14. Assign the Secretariat of the Executive Council and the Church’s Central Office to soon issue documents to be submitted to the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and the People’s Committee of Hanoi on the organization of the National Buddhist Congress. IXth time.

15. The International Buddhist Committee prepares a master plan to submit to the government on the plan to organize the Vietnam – Laos – Cambodia Buddhist Summit in early 2023.

16. The meeting agreed to implement the conclusion No. 186/TB-HDTS-VP2 dated April 18, 2022 of the Standing Board of the Executive Board on the introduction of key personnel expected for the Thua Thien Hue Buddhist Congress. 17. The Conference agreed to implement the conclusions in Document 172/BB-HDTS-VP2 dated April 7, 2022 on the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Buddhist Congress for the 2022-2027 term as follows: Quang Hien, Head of the Board of Directors of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Buddhist Sangha for the term (2017-2022) took the position of Proof and joined the Proving Council: Not participating in the Board of Directors and Executive Board of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Buddhist Sangha term (2022-2027). 18. The conference agreed on the work of directing the organization of the Ca Mau Buddhist Congress for the term (2022-2027) according to the conclusion of the working session between the Working Group of the Executive Council led by Venerable Dao Nhu, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council as the head of the delegation with leaders of Ca Mau province on July 8, 2022.

19. The Conference agreed to invite the Most Venerable Thich Nhat Quang, Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Dong Nai province, term (2017-2022) to take the position of Proving and join the Proving Council; Discussing with the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Dong Nai province and relevant agencies of Dong Nai province on the nomination of Venerable Thich Hue Thong, Deputy Secretary General, Chief of Office 2 of the Central Church to join the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Dong Nai province. 20.
