On July 17 (June 19, Nham Dan), at Bat Nha Monastery (village 10, Damb’ri commune, Bao Loc city, Lam Dong) a ceremony was solemnly held to form a stupa of Quan The Am and peace. 1,000 statues of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara on the anniversary of his enlightenment.
Proving, attending was Venerable Thich Duc Nghi, Proving the Executive Board of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha of Bao Loc City, the owner of Bat Nha Monastery; the venerable monks, nuns in Bao Loc city; Leader representatives were Mr. Nguyen Van Trieu, Standing Member of Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Bao Loc City Party Committee and local leaders of Damb’ri commune.
At the ceremony, Venerable Thich Dong Hieu, abbot of Bat Nha Monastery expressed his sincere gratitude to the religious leaders at all levels of the Church and local authorities at all levels for creating favorable conditions in the process of building construction. Create Avalokitesvara stupa on campus Bat Nha Monastery. In particular, with the demonstration and direct guidance of the Most Venerable Master Thich Duc Nghi and the monks and nuns in the sect of An Lac communal house (Bao Loc City).
The Avalokitesvara Stupa was started construction in early 2019, with the quadrangular stupa architecture, including 1 ground floor and 7 floors. The tower has a height of 49 meters, the ground floor has a floor area of about 149 m2, which is used as a place to display traditional products of the tea industry and tea tools. The first floor of the tower is decorated with Dai Hong Chung cast in bronze, weighing about 1 ton. From the 2nd to 7th floors of the stupa is decorated with the statue of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara incarnate according to different images carved in Non Nuoc stone.
In particular, the partitions of each floor of the tower are designed to be divided into 1,000 squares measuring about 35cm x 40cm, assembled with lighted glass, each box is decorated with a statue of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. 500 decorative statues inside the tower are carved with incense wood and 500 decorative statues on the outside of the tower are carved with marble.
Most Venerable Thich Thich Duc Nghi bestowed praise on the merits of the abbot and the Buddhists of Bat Nha Monastery who built the stupa, facing many difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, with the heart of reverence for Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara’s vows, after 3 years of building the stupa, it was accomplished as desired.
