Mindfulness (sati) is memory that records what is happening right now.

Awareness (saṁpajañña) is clear understanding.

In the practice of meditation, awareness means: seeing the object clearly and in balance.

These two dharmas often go hand in hand and are collectively called Mindfulness – Awareness (satisaṁpajañña).

The meaning is noting the physical and mental phenomena that are happening right now, and seeing them accurately, completely, and discriminatingly.

● The characteristic of mindfulness is to sink deeply into the object, not superficially, floating on the surface.

● The function of mindfulness is not to move away from the object, to hold on to the object.

● The manifestation of mindfulness is facing the object and protecting the mind from the domination of defilements.

● The cause of mindfulness is the precise, immediate and continuous noting of the object that is arising.

Thus, the task of the meditator is to mindfully note all the good and bad objects that arise, prominent in the present, objectively, without selection, discrimination or criticism.

Regularly practice mindfulness

Mindfulness (sati) is the memory of noticing what is happening in the present moment.

The job of a meditator is similar to that of a gatekeeper who observes visitors entering and leaving. Or like the part of a secretary who records all the facts on every piece of paper that comes to the office.

Often meditators just like to record or report what experiences are good, what feels good, but are less willing to accept or pay attention to what is considered bad or unpleasant. The object itself is neither good nor bad, and the meditator’s task is to be aware of the object as soon as it arises. A bulging belly is known as a bulge. A flat belly is known as a flat stomach. Pain is pain. Itching is known as itch. Liberal mind knows how to free mind. Concentration knows mind concentration. The doubting mind knows the doubting mind. The mind that wishes to know is the mind that has a wish. The judging mind knows that the judging mind. A mind with greed knows is a mind with greed. The mind that has anger knows that the mind has anger. The mind with delusion knows that the mind has delusion. To hear is to hear. Seeing and knowing is seeing… As the subject is, the meditator pays attention to note it just as it is, neither adding nor reducing. That is mindfulness.

All movements, small postures such as stretching arms and legs with mindfulness are also cultivation. At first, there was a silent recitation, but later there was only awareness. Or more precisely, let the mind be purified and see clearly the true nature of nama-rupa phenomena. In order to eliminate attachment to these phenomena, one must practice Precepts, Dhyana, Hue.

This is the Noble Eightfold Path for spiritual cultivation, based on the practice of Vipassana mindfulness meditation, which is “the only way to purify the mind, overcome sorrow, eliminate suffering and sorrow, and attain righteous attainments. wisdom and realize Nirvana”. When noting is continuous, mindfulness becomes steady, concentration becomes strong, able to penetrate to see the particular and general characteristics of impermanence, suffering, and not-self of the arising nama-rupa phenomena. . Thus, mindfulness is the key to wisdom. Therefore, meditators should make an effort to note the object continuously in order to develop mindfulness, to develop insight insight throughout the course.
