On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day on July 27, the Executive Board of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha in Lang Son province coordinated with the Lang Son Provincial Youth Union and related units to hold a prayer ceremony, light candles to pay tribute to heroes and martyrs. Attending the ceremony were Venerable Thich Quang Truyen, Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha in Lang Son province; Venerable Thich Ban Chung, Standing Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha of Lang Son province, and members of the Standing Committee of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha of Lang Son province and Thanh pagoda Buddhists.

On the side of government leaders, there were Mr. Hoang Van Nghiem, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, together with leaders of departments, agencies, armed forces, relatives of martyrs and more than 500 union members and young people in Lang Son city.

At the ceremony, the monks and delegates spent a minute of silence in memory of heroes and martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland; respectfully offering incense, flowers, and lighting candles to express gratitude to the generations of his father who have devoted his blood and blood to the independence and freedom of the nation.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented 24 gifts to families with meritorious services to the revolution in Cao Loc district and Lang Son city.

Earlier, in the afternoon of the same day, the Executive Board of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha in Lang Son province and Thanh pagoda’s ashram held a ceremony pray heroic spirit of heroes and martyrs according to rituals Buddhism. Venerables and Buddhists also visited and gave gifts to Vietnamese heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Kim (91 years old) in Vinh Trai ward, Lang Son city.

It is known that the Lang Son Provincial Youth Union has directed the District Unions to simultaneously hold candles to pay tribute to heroes and martyrs at all martyr cemeteries in the province on the evening of July 24. The Provincial Buddhist Board sponsored all candles to serve the program with a total value of more than 100 million VND.
